About this grant
This funding round opens phase three of the Energy Redress Scheme, which distributes voluntary payments from companies that may have breached Ofgem rules. The scheme supports vulnerable people, develops innovative products and services, and helps reduce carbon emissions. Six distinct funding streams are available: the Main Fund (£19m), Impact Fund (£1m), Small Project Fund (£1m), Innovation Fund (£4.5m), Carbon Emissions Reduction Fund (£3m), and Just Transition Fund (£1.5m). Since 2018, the scheme has funded over 790 projects supporting 900,000 households. Projects deliver frontline energy advice, targeted support for vulnerable groups, whole-house retrofits, community energy generation, and trials of new business models.
