EPSRC new investigator award: applicant-led mode

Eligibility

• —Research offices should advise applicants on eligibility in the first instance.
• —If multiple ineligible applications come from the same institution, we may engage with the research organisation before allowing further submissions.
• —We require candidates and research offices to be satisfied at the point of application that the candidate is eligible for the scheme.

• —Where you are unsure, we will consider your current and historic grant and research portfolio and whether this duplicates the ambition and experience of the scheme in reaching a judgement.
• —Please note we cannot assess individual CVs or non‑EPSRC fellowships.

About this grant

Apply for funding to support your transition to research independence. You will present and develop a strong and clear independent research vision and lead a project team to successfully deliver this. You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funding. It must be your first application to EPSRC as a project lead. We will award 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) of the project. Projects should apply for the duration and funding required to fully meet their research goals.
