About this grant

Commissioned Rehabilitative Services General Grant Scheme for support for people with shared protected characteristics or shared experiences or to promote rehabilitation and desistance to support the aims of Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to protect the public and reduce reoffending. This includes the aims to improve people’s engagement in, and experience of, probation and other rehabilitative activities; to support an individual’s rehabilitation and desistance journey; and to improve HMPPS’ knowledge of which activities work to support people and to encourage rehabilitation and desistance. England and Wales are divided into 12 probation regions. Each of these regions has access to a budget per financial year that can be used to commission rehabilitative services. This includes services for those with protected characteristics or with shared experiences, or services that promote rehabilitation and desistance through grant awards. A grant scheme has been approved which will enable HMPPS to award multiple competed general grants across the probation regions. Any organisation interested in these upcoming grants should register their interest in the Probation Grants Applications Portal which can be accessed using the following link: Please see the attached guidance for key information on probation services grants, and a step-by-step guide for registering for the grants portal. All non-profit making organisations may register an interest in probation services grants. You will be required to provide some basic contact details, including the legal structure of your organisation, plus declare any organisational convictions/offences.
